Drugmakers led a rally in Britain’s shares, up for a second day.
Shire Plc and AstraZeneca Plc advanced more than 2 percent, following gains in Europe’s health-care stocks. Restaurant operator Greene King Plc surged 9.6 percent after reporting a jump in quarterly earnings. Pace Plc jumped 7 percent after Arris Group Inc. said the U.S. Department of Justice closed a probe on its proposed purchase of the set-top box maker. Ryanair Holdings Plc led gains in airlines.
The FTSE 100 Index climbed 0.4 percent, set to close at its highest level since Oct. 28. The FTSE All-Share Index also added 0.4 percent, while Ireland’s ISEQ Index gained 1 percent.
Sage Group Plc fell 3.2 percent after reporting that profit was lower than forecast. Anglo American Plc lost 1.2 percent, trading near a record low.
